Rogue legacy tips1/30/2024 I saved the gold, and did the second run with a Barbarian King. I managed to get nearly 3000 gold in a single run by sneaking into Darkness/Forest/Maya, getting chests that were close to portals, and running away. I managed a terrific run with the Paladin, and got Charon's Obol. On Christmas Day, I did the same, except it started at 8AM and I had Die Hard in the background. So on Christmas Eve, I celebrated with Red Bulls and beers. I'm nowhere close to killing Khidr, as I barely last 10 seconds in the room. I've unlocked Assassin and Shinobi, but those are irrelevant because I can barely survive 2 rooms. My only successes so far have been with the Barbarian. I'm too weak to kill the lvl 15? monsters. I'm averaging 80 gold a run, with 2 runs hitting 1000 (using Barbarian). This game is turning out to be extremely frustrating and punishing, as I find the game does not get easier as I level up, but instead it gets harder (enemies scale up). I don't do enough damage to kill things fast enough before the room turns into a bullet hell game. I just played the game for another 4 hours, and am finding it very not fun. Side note, Rogue Legacy was recently in the Steam sale for 66% off, join us in /r/Steam for more Steam sale craziness extravaganza! Is the game difficulty consistent, or does it get easier? I don't game as much these days, so if it takes 200 hours to get good, I think I'm just going to file it away in the "finish it before I die IRL" category. My best "try" to kill them involves running right up to them when the room loads, and killing them before they summon anything. The things that kill be the quickest are the flying picture frames and the flamelocks. I'm dying extremely quickly in Rogue Legacy, and the most gold I've gotten in a single run was around 420 using a Barbarian. I didn't even bother with Wrath of the Lamb because I can't survive the first room. I'm generally awful at Roguelikes, it took me 102 plays to beat FTL on easy, and over 120 deaths to beat Mom's heart in BoI. So I think I'm on my 20th or 30th child now, and I still have barely scratched the surface of the game (about to call it quits).
